Congrats to Sinan Bascil for receiving the prize for best poster at the 53rd Physical Organic Mini-Symposium (POMS), an annual national conference for students, postdocs and faculty doing physical organic chemistry. Sinan’s poster featured his work on improving our ability to monitor vibrational strong coupling experiments by NMR.
Cyprien’s paper on the kinetics of a Diels-Alder reaction under Vibrational Strong Coupling has appeared in Angewandte Chemie Internal Edition. The Diels-Alder reaction is proposed as a useful framework for future studies on how intramolecular vibrational redistribution can influence outcomes. Congrats to Cyprien, Maciej and Sinan!
Sinan is the sole member of the tenth incoming class of PhD students to join the group in Strasbourg. Sinan will work on a physical organic chemistry approach to understanding the impact of vibrational strong coupling on chemistry. Welcome, Sinan!
