Cyprien’s paper on developing a method for measuring kinetics of chemical reactions under vibrational strong coupling was accepted for publication in Angewandte Chemie. Congrats!

Recent PhD graduate, Cyprien Muller, has been selected as a 2024 ISTA-Fellow. The fellowship is given to 10 outstanding recent PhD graduates per year who wish to carry out their postdoctoral research at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria. Cyprien will hold his award in the laboratory of Prof. Rafal Klajn. Congrats, Cyprien!

Congrats and farewell to Dr. David Leboeuf, who has been named an independent group leader at LIMA, a CNRS institute at the University of Strasbourg. David was a CNRS research associate in our lab at ISIS for 4.5 years and published 13 papers (so far) in collaboration with Joseph during this time and co-supervised 3 PhD students. We are grateful for his many contributions over the years, both scientific and social. He will be missed. Check out the website of his new team. Best of luck in the next stage of your career and come visit often!
The latest from our collaboration with the Ebbesen group on Vibrational Strong Coupling is published in Angewandte Chemie. We disclose an optical cavity that can fit in a standard NMR tube, allowing to directly observe the effects of VSC by NMR. The technique is showcased by using Schreiner’s molecular balance for London dispersion forces to probe how those forces change under VSC. Congrats to Bianca, Maciej and all the other authors!
